Your next midnight snack: presented by Denner & dieci

 

The best ideas come after midnight. Like the other day. After a night on the tiles, all danced out, we made our way back home. All we craved at that moment was a pizza – and a good night’s sleep.

So, we grabbed our phones and followed the familiar steps: open dieci.ch, choose our favourite pizza and wait a short while for the courier to arrive with our oven-fresh margherita. But then we had a sobering realisation – dieci had already closed.

 

Ordinary people would have an emergency pizza in the freezer for this eventuality. Something with too much cheese, too little soul and a dough that tastes more like cardboard than calzone. But if you’re a fan of authentic Italian pizzas, you won’t compromise. Especially not after midnight.

 

All of a sudden, we had an idea:

What if you could get dieci pizza in frozen form? For precisely those moments when dieci’s diligent couriers are asleep, but still urgently needed. No sooner said than done.

 

The next morning, we started making it a reality: doughs were rethought, ingredients tested and classics such as margherita, piccante and funghi put through their paces to see if they could stand up to the freezer. Our aim? A pizza that isn’t ‘just OK’ once baked, but suspiciously close to ‘freshly delivered’. As soon as we’d perfected our frozen dieci pizza, we made it a tempting proposition for Switzerland’s major retailers: who wanted their range to include the smallest pizzeria in the country?  

 

Off to Denner

Denner immediately wanted a slice of the action. That’s why they’re now stocking three dieci classics in their freezer cabinets. For all those moments when our couriers aren’t yet – or are no longer – available. For spontaneous cravings after a long night, or simply for breakfast: we won’t judge.
